Using the @ symbol with the Send command

Recommended Posts

I've setup a script, and converted it into an exe, to automate logging into a couple of MMORPG video games I have. One of the video games, City of Heroes, the script works great, no problems. The other game, Guild Wars, doesn't work. Here's the script for City of Heroes:

Send, Account name

Sleep, 1000

Send, {TAB}

Sleep, 1000

Send, Password

Sleep, 2000

Send, {ENTER}

In place of Account name is my login name into the game, same with the password. Here's the script for Guild Wars

Send, accountname@someplace.com

Sleep, 1000

Send, {TAB}

Sleep, 1000

Send, Password

Sleep, 2000

Send, {ENTER}

Guild Wars is a little different, it requires an email address to log into the game. Both the "@" and the "." are giving me the issues. When the script is executed it will minimize the game. I know both symbols are giving me issues because if I remove them from the script and re-run it, it'll fill out the fields in the game as it's suppose too. I've tried changing the script to:

Send, accountname

Send, "\@"

Send, someplace

Send, "\."

Send, com

Also:

Send, accountname

Send, '\@'

Also:

Send, accountname

Send, ("\@")

Any most any other combinations you can think of. I'm not very familiar using AutoIt as I used to use VBScripting to automate my tasks. Anyone have any clues why sending either the @ or . will minimize a program?

JdeB, I'm using the newest version, v3. I tried what you posted and nope, still minimizes the program.

Valuater. Tried yours too and it still minimizes the program. Even tried send,(chr(64)) without success.

Any more suggestions? :whistle:

*Update*

Oops, guess I was wrong. It appears I downloaded an older version cause I noticed in the doco on the web it said my file name for the script should be .au3 instead of .aut. installing the newer version now. I'll report back went it's installed.
