[SOLVED]Case sensitive password how?

I am wondering how to make a password case sensitive for making it harder. and to learn how to do that:P

There's several possibilities, but Melba's is the most straight forward.

This is also perfect opportunity for a regular expression, if you need to check the password contains 1 digit, 1 upper-case character.

If you hash the password you need, and you then hash the password entered, the hash will be case sensitive regardless of what you use to compare them "=" vs "=="

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this way they don't know the actual password used. Although, it's not secure in that they can decrypt the hash using _Crypt_DecryptData it at least makes it so that the password isn't in plain text.

Actually I was reffering to the binary used to represent different characters. Thinking about it, BinaryToString() and StringToBinary() will do this more quickly than reading each character separately. I tend to convert things to binary to avoid mix ups. I think learning how the characters are encoded is a good idea early on, so I suggested looking at Chr() and Asc() for that reason. It illustrates how the characters are differentiated internally. But using the == operator is the most practical solution.

I second Brew's method if you want a bit more of a secure approach so you're not having to pass plain-text passwords.
