Try SciTE Jump in SciTE4AutoIt3 (Tools >> SciTE Jump) and look at my signature for SciTE Jump too. At the bottom there is an input to search for text within files.

Thanks... but SciTE is not very intuitive to me. I set a folder at the bottom and now the upper search field still searches in my currently opened script.

Furthermore I don't understand what's that second smaller field on the right of the search field... and what you mean by "look at my signature for SciTE Jump"...

That second input is to navigate to a certain line number, so enter 10 and it will jump to line 10. The input to search for in files, is the input above the combo box.

"Search in my signature" means look at the text links below this post and you will see the topic called SciTE Jump.

To specify filetypes, select the settings button (right arrow at the top) and enter au3 into the filetypes. The in find in files just have an empty space.

I figured out that the Monitor.a3x is missing from the source folder. I have set it and the search works.

BUT, the search does not work in compiled mode and it looks like it's not running the monitor script as it stops after 2secs.

There's a search feature inside Scite that will search for files and the contents of files for specific strings, look in the Search menu for "Find In Files".

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
