Read Data from an Application that is running

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I´m new to AutoIt3, but what I´ve read is that it´s a great tool to do a lot of things. I wonder if it can be used to read data appearing on an application window (I don´t have the source code for that application, just the .exe) and if data can be saved to excel or sent via COM port.

thx a lot for your help.

Great. Thx for the quick answer. What other information you need? I have an application running, name is PTP-Lenght, I have some data that is being shown on the screen. I assume I have to use something like AutoIT Window Info to know the name of the data-boxes. Data is continuously changing as it comes from a physical meter connected to the computer.

pls let me know of any other information you need so you can give me some help.

again, thx a lot.

With AutoIT Window Info put the finder tool aim on the control that you want read and post here the result of the "Summary" tab.

EDIT:

To attach a new file here click on "Use Full Editor" ;)

That´s what I´m trying to do, share a screen shot, but I can´t attach a bmp file. Here´s the text version of the Sumary tab. When I move to a 2nd data, nothing change, that the mouse position.
