Outlook 2003 create appointment

So any idea about my issue with getting the warning script to work right?

However im now getting 'Error creating a connection to Outlook. @error = 6, @extended = 1'

Am i right from reading the OutlookEX that this error means:

|6 - Run error when running $sWarningProgram. Please check @extended for more information

|1 - Outlook was already up and running. When using _OL_Open you have to set parameter $bForceClose to True to stop the Outlook process (optional)

but im a bit lost on where I set $bForceClose to true?

@extended = 1 only means "Outlook was already up and running" when @error = 1, means: when _OL_Open was successful.

In your case @extended = 1 is the error returned by the Run function. Most of the time this means: Program not found. Are you sure the path is correct?

Another idea:

As the path contains spaces you need to add quotes:

$oOutlook = _OL_Open(True, '"C:\Documents and Settings\james.q\My Documents\Autoit Files\UpgradeBooker\_OL_Warnings.exe"', 1000, 1000, "", "")

realised what it was, i was trying to run the warning program as the au3 file it was, rather than converting it to exe first, didnt need the quotes, cheers!

Dont suppose you know of any good example scripts using radiobuttons? ive never used them before but want to, just dont understand how to link from the ok button to picking up which radiobutton is being used?

so it should work as I click ok, this checks which radio button is selected, the one thats select it runs the func thats in its case

You are correct, I don't know of any good examples. But if you search Google for Visual Basic code this can easily be translated to AutoIt.

Hi,

Im now having problems with my script again, it was working fine until this morning and cannot work out whats changed.

It trys to connect to outlook:

$oOutlook = _OL_Open(True, "C:\Documents and Settings\james.q\My Documents\Bookers\Warning.exe", 1000, 1000, "", "")

But then im getting @error=6, @extended=1

Ive checked the warning.exe file is still there, tried replacing it with a new copy, am I right in understanding that its complaining about finding the warning.exe file? any ideas?

If the function doesn't find the exe you would get @error = 5.

@error = 6 and @extended = 1 means that function "Run" returns error code 1.

Can you please place the warning.exe in the directory where your script resides and modify the parameter accordingly?

Hi Water, the warning.exe is already in the same directory as my script, any other thoughts?

If you open a DOS command prompt, change to the directory and then run warning.exe do you get any error messages?

Ok doing this has worked

And then putting it back to the orgional place and changing _OL_Open as you requested sorted it with it being in the orgional place. Any idea why this issue may have only just started to happen? I logged into the machine this is all on from home last night but dont see how anything I did last night could have stopped it from working.

The way the run statement was used it never worked with a program with spaces in the path or filename.

I've updated the UDF to get rid of this bug.

Also I was wondering, is their a way to define which calendar the appointment is to be added to?

so say if I can see 4 different calendars:

Cal A (My default calendar)

Cal B (shared calendar)

Cal C (shared calendar)

Cal D (shared calendar)

I want the appointment to be added 'Cal B' with 'Cal C' being invited as an attendant

Is there a way I can do this with _OL_Wrapper_CreateAppointment or can it only be done with _OL_ItemCreate.

Im hoping theirs a way to do it with _OL_Wrapper_CreateAppointment

Unfortunately you can't do this with _OL_Wrapper_CreateAppointment.

But it isn't too complex either. _OL_Wrapper_CreateAppointment just calls a few other functions of the UDF.

You need _OL_FolderAccess to access "Cal B" and _OL_RecipientAdd to invite "Cal C".
