Array variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimension range exceeded

Recommended Posts

Okay so im having issues whenever i try and scan a large amount of text using the "unknown function" checker that i had asked about earlier.

Whenever i try and check a large amount of text i get this error

C:\Users\Autumn\Desktop\Mega-Tool\Script.au3 (641) : ==> Array variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimension range exceeded.:

If StringRegExp(FileRead("Function.txt"), $ga_Funcs[$i]) Then _ArrayDelete($ga_Funcs, $i)

If StringRegExp(FileRead("Function.txt"), ^ ERROR

this is the code that the error is coming from. Im guesing its because of the "subscript dimension range exceeded"

$ga_Funcs = StringRegExp(_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetText( $edit ), "(?is)(?:::|thread\s+)(\w+)", 3)
For $i = 0 UBound($ga_Funcs)-1 to 0 step -1
If StringRegExp(_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetText( $edit ), '(?is)\v\s*' & $ga_Funcs[$i] & '\([^\)]*\)\s') Then _ArrayDelete($ga_Funcs, $i)
If StringRegExp(FileRead("Function.txt"), $ga_Funcs[$i]) Then _ArrayDelete($ga_Funcs, $i)
Next
ClipPut(_ArrayToString($ga_Funcs, @CRLF))

You should be checking the @error returned by the StringRegExp function before trying to access the array. You're getting the error, more than likely, because the function doesn't find what you're looking for.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

not possible if i type just "tony" it finds nothing, yet still no error.

What could cause this error?

What's the contents of $ga_Funcs just before it errors?

What's the value of $i when it errors?

If the first condition is positive and runs _ArrayDelete($ga_Funcs, $i), then $ga_Funcs[$i] doesn't exist any more

So if the second condition is positive too, guess what ? ;)

Try this

$ga_Funcs = StringRegExp(_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetText( $edit ), "(?is)(?:::|thread\s+)(\w+)", 3)
For $i = UBound($ga_Funcs)-1 to 0 step -1
If StringRegExp(_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetText( $edit ), '(?is)\v\s*' & $ga_Funcs[$i] & '\([^\)]*\)\s') OR _
StringRegExp(FileRead("Function.txt"), $ga_Funcs[$i]) Then _ArrayDelete($ga_Funcs, $i)
Next
ClipPut(_ArrayToString($ga_Funcs, @CRLF))

Edit

Argh...

I also forgot to mention, this line is written totally wrong, I'm surprised the script runs at all.

; this line
For $i = 0 UBound($ga_Funcs)-1 to 0 step -1
; should be written like this
For $i = UBound($ga_Funcs)-1 to 0 step -1

tonyatcodeleakers,

Always worth having a look in the Help file first, where _GUICtrlRichEdit_SetLimitOnText jumped out as the likely solution. ;)
