Macro in Function definition

Hi,

i tried to do this:

Func Testfunction($inifile = @ScriptDir & "test.ini")

MsgbBox(0,"",$inifile)

EndFunc

and this gives my an Syntax error.

Am i doing something wrong here, or is this just not possible?

It doesn't make sense. Why not this.

    $inifile = @ScriptDir & "\test.ini"

MsgBox(0,"",$inifile)

The error is because you're concantenating the string in the function line, It appears that Au3Check AutoIt doesn't like that.

I want to create a function that has a paramter for the ini file and this paramter should have a default value to use an ini file that is in @scriptdir.

Use the Default keyword, and then inside the function, check to see if the Default keyword was used, if it was then you set the path inside the function, because it won't work trying to set it in the function declaration statement.

OK, no problem, i just solved it that way:

If $ini<>"" then 
$inifile=$ini
else
$inifile=@script & "\myini.ini"
endif
MsgBox(0,"",$inifile)

I prefer this (your function is ugly, and you use 1 more useless variable)

    If $sIni = Default Then $sIni = @ScriptDir & "\file.ini"
    MsgBox(64, "Test", $sIni)
EndFunc

But in this example, isn't it redundant to check of $sIni is Default?

No, it's not redundant, it's how you're supposed to do it. If you put anything in there other than Default, $sIni is going to equal whatever you sent the function.
