Megasoum
Hello, So I'm working on a script right now that will do a bunch of stuff for my work (basically a gui for an old command prompt tool we have to use). Amongst the things I need to do is create folders and move files around. For some reason it won't work if I try to create new stuff on the C: drive. For example, if I run this very simply bit of code in my script DirCreate("C:\Test") DirCreate("D:\Test") A new folder named "Test" will be created on my D: drive but nothing will happen on the C: drive. I tried running the compiled exe as admin and it still doesn't work. Anybody has a solution? Thanks!

Megasoum
Try putting #RequireAdmin at the top of the script. I'm guessing this is on Win7? Right, forgot to specify. Yes this is Win7. Adding the #RequireAdmin doesn't fix it.
careca
No ideas, but i also have win7 and it works fine. jdelaney
Sometimes, even running as admin, does not give highest priviledges...such as if your user is not part of certain groups (like administration)...you might need to run as a different user. Yeah that's what I thought too but my user is a local admin on this pc.
Megasoum
Yeah ok this is really weird. Definitly looks liks it's a right problem. I can do anything I want as long as it doesn't affect the root of the C drive. So for example I created a folder (myself in explorer) called "Test" in C: and I can do whatever I want in there through AutoIT but I can't create THAT folder directly in AutoIt... Oh well that sucks but I guess I'll work around that.

Megasoum
how are you executing the script? Hmm, what do you mean? I hit F5 most of the time but I also tried to manually compile it and run the exe.
jdelaney
ok, just double checking you weren't running as a scheduled task, or some other way. careca
Have you tried copying the file yourself there? Or maybe tried to use other apps to copy files there? just to see if there is some kind of protection in place... If you can copy stuff normally, i'd sugest you might have a virus.
