FindText and GetText of a ListBox with multiple columns

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have tried to find a item of a ListBox with _GUICtrlListBox_FindString, _GUICtrlListBox_FindInText, _GUICtrlListBox_GetSelItemsText, _GUICtrlListBox_GetText, ControlGetText, ControlListView, ControlCommand but nothing work.

However other functions like _GUICtrlListBox_SetCurSel and _GUICtrlListBox_GetCount responds OK.

I think that the problem cause is the multiple columns of the ListBox, any idea?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Hi,

Welcome to the autoit forum :)

I don't know much about _GUICtrlListBox* functions, can you post some informations about the control (using the AutoIt3Info tool), but moreover a screenshot of this one (you're probably talking about a listview isn'it ?)

First off, welcome to the forums.

Second, Listboxes normally don't have multiple columns, so you might be dealing with a listview and not a listbox. Are you sure it's a listbox you're accessing?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

rmembrives,

I for one cannot open the link to see the image. Which app are you trying to automate? What is the full control info from the Window Info Tool?

It´s an internal app from another company, this is the control info:

I have make a workaround sending keystrokes and using the clipboard, but its a little slow. In others ListBox controls in the app with only one column, the FindText funcion works OK

I attach the screenshot.

Thanks in advance.

rmembrives,

It certainly looks like a ListView - but some Googling threw up references to ListBoxes with columns and a header. So I am prepared to believe that it is what the Window Info tool says - particularly as you say that some of the _GUICtrlListBox functions work.

However, I would also say that the addition of columns to the basic ListBox control (it seemed pretty complex to do this from what I saw when searching) is what is preventing the other functions from working. So I cannot offer any suggestions - sorry about that. :(

I am just delighted that you have managed to find a workaround. :)

Hello!

How I get to work with the content of the rows of a list box it's using the clipboard. I select the row, then send("^c") and then read from ClipGet().

An example:

Local $control_hd = ControlGetHandle($fw_old,"","[CLASS:ListBox; INSTANCE:1]")
Local $num = _GUICtrlListBox_GetCount($control_hd)
; Here I select all the rows
_GUICtrlListBox_SelItemRangeEx($control_hd, 1, $num)
;Then with a loop i clean the clipboard and copy the selected rows (Send("^c"))
ClipPut("")
While (True)
If (ClipGet() <> "")
Then
 ExitLoop
EndIf
Send("^c")
WEnd
;Then i get the text in the clipboard and save in a variable ($buffer)
$buffer = ClipGet()

Hope that helps anybody.
