OwenWatson
I'm trying to get the Authors and Last Saved By information out of files (at least the Office files that write this stuff). I'm familiar with getting file versions, etc but the documentation doesn't cover this more obsure information AFAIK.
OwenWatson
Only seems to get a few extra properties: Authors but (important for me) not Last Saved By
Solution BrewManNH Posted May 22, 2013 Solution Share Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Use the _FileGetProperty function that I posted, it will get all of the file's properties that Windows knows about. It's linked in my signature. You can search for all properties, returned in an array, and search through them for what you need. Or you can call the function with just the property you're looking for and it will return that data in a string. Edited May 22, 2013 by BrewManNH If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. OwenWatson
Sorry, sent message before I realised the stuff under your answer was your sig! Thought it was a system-inserted stuff. Apologies! Anyway, it works: much easier than doing the .dll thang suggested elsewhere.
