Rebind Keyboard Key to Mouse Side Buttons

Recommended Posts

Good evening good people's of Autoit forums, I've been having issues making a working script that will let me rebind keyboard keys to my mouse side buttons. The game I'm playing doesn't support mouse side buttons as being bindable. I'm trying to get Control+A and remapped to i guess it would be mouse buttons 4 and 5. Could I trouble any of you gentleman/ladies to help me out, It would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried Autohotkeys but the script wouldn't work with the game running, it worked in anything else which was weird. But then i remembered Autoit, However I'm extremely new to i guess the language... Autoit uses.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry but games automation, script interaction with games or game servers aren't allowed here, read the rules...

I did... I suppose my request pertains to the "Interaction" aspect of that rule, I apologize, I figured remapping a simple key was a gray area. Though I don't quite understand why simply changing A to B or to Mouse5 is shunned as if it was as heinous as botting, or automating a game to play itself. It simply facilitates a binding layout, which is why nearly every video game in existence allows you to do so, of which I'm sure you're aware.

Again i apologize for wasting your time, I'll continue my search elsewhere.

Have a good night.

I agree with you, this isn't really interaction with a game, remapping a button is something external to games, but anyway, in autoit im not sure how to do it, but i believe there was a program called keytweak or something, that allows you to remapp keys, not sure this was the name...

Path0gen,

The rules are quite clear - you openly stated that this script was to interact with a game and so the thread instantly becomes illegal. Thread locked. :naughty:
