Looping thru an array

There is what I have so far.  Basically, what I'm wanting to do is loop thru the array and compare the values vs. the $RoomNumb value. If it doesn't match then it will set off an MSI to run. I have the logic for it, just can't figure out how to get that logic to paper. I'm thinking a While loop, but can't figure out how to increment the index value thru the array.

 

Little help again, please?

Except you need an ExitLoop, not an Exit in there, although you could just put the Run command into the loop itself and put the ExitLoop after it.

In my code, if it matches then exit, else continue the script after the loop end and run the msi ^^

True, but seems silly to use a stick and some string, when there is a perfectly acceptable fishing rod in the corner. That quote doesn't really apply to what FireFox and I were saying.

I agree that UDF are usually the good way but what's the most important for a newbie in this particular case ? Learning to use _ArraySearch or learning to loop through an array ?

Those are two different things. He will a day or another learn the For syntax as it's a "compulsory passage".

Thank you gentlemen,  assuming we are all men here, for the answers. Seems it is much simpler than I was making it out to be, guess my logic was flawed.  I in turn did not intend to start a discussion as to whether one way or another is better for the learning process of newbies .   Again, thanks for the help. I was super busy today with other stuff and have yet to try these directions. I'll let ya'll know how things go.

Firefox's code worked perfectly. Now the boss wants to make an adjustment to install a different msi according to the numbers in the array.

Look at using a Switch statement, have the help file to hand to get an idea e.g.

For $i = 1 To $aArray[0]
    Switch $aArray[$i]
        Case 'E12'
            ; Run this MSI
        Case 'E13'
            ; Run this MSI
    EndSwitch
Next

This is an example and doesn't reflect working code for you.
