Help with FileReadLine Logic

I'm trying to learn how to replace varied lines of a text file using FileReadLine and _FileWriteToLine. The problem is, I can't use "If" because it doesn't seem to recognize only part of the read line.

$fileT="C:\test.txt"
    $line1 = FileReadLine($fileT,1)
    If $line1 = "Pe" Then
    _FileWriteToLine($fileT, 1, "Peach", 1)
    EndIf
    If $line1 = "Ap" Then
    _FileWriteToLine($fileT, 1, "Avocado", 1)
    EndIf
    If $line1 = "Or" Then
    _FileWriteToLine($fileT, 1, "Durian", 1)
    EndIf

"Pe" being Pear, "Ap" being Apple, and "Or" being Orange in the text file. Is there any way to make it work without using the full names in the "If" sections? Sort of like how you can add an asterisk to the end of searches.

Why not read the file to an array using _FileReadToArray, loop through the array and then write back using _FileWriteFromArray?

I looked at both of those things... are you sure they will let me do what I want? I want to replace a line entirely with something else, after identifying which line to replace by using just part of the line. I don't see any way to specify a line at all in either of those, but maybe I just misunderstand you entirely.

You need to understand the basic fundamentals of arrays, once you grasp that then your code will flourish. Look in the wiki and help for usage of arrays.

Look at StringInStr to find a piece of the line's text to identify if the line holds that text at all.

Arrays brought back feelings of highschool math trauma but StringInStr was easy to understand and worked. Thank you both.

If you need to work with arrays (and I'm sure you will need sooner or later) please read the excellent tutorial in the wiki.
