Background running 'steals' focus from other windows

I'm running a script in the background to detect USB drive changes and then trigger a backup process when a identified disk is inserted. I'm using code such as

While 1

   $Msg = GetMsg()

   Sleep(1000)

Wend

Unfortunately everytime the code runs to check for a disk change, it takes focus from the current window but don't return it. This means that while I'm typing an email, my cursor suddenly disappears and I have to manually click on the Outlook window again to continue again.

Is there a way not to change the window focus at all? when the script executes after sleeping in the loop?

Many thanks

Ferdie.

Ferdie,

I have many scripts running in the background and none of them steal the keyboard focus when they activate (unless of course they are supposed to). ;)

Could you please post your script so that we can see what might be causing you this problem. When you do so please use Code tags - see here how to do it. :)
