FileOpenDialog to $Launcher

Recommended Posts

Hey ;) I am trying to select a File using the FileOpenDialog, which then is converted to a variable which i want to use later. My code looks like this:

$code = FileOpenDialog ("Select File",@DesktopDir,"Executables (*.exe)",1+2)

Case $restart
    EndSwitch
    If $bCheck Then
If Not ProcessExists($var) And Not ProcessExists("asd.exe") Then
    ShellExecute($code)
        EndIf
    EndIf

To explain it more detailed:

I want to let the user set the File to restart, if 2 Processes arent running. For that, i got an Inputline in KODA, where you would have to type the name of the first process, being $var, and a button for the FileOpenDialog to  select the File which shall be started in $code.

(Sorry for my bad English ;( i'm german.)

I tested your code and it works for me.  What seems to be the issue?

$code = FileOpenDialog ("Select File",@DesktopDir,"Executables (*.exe)",1+2)
$bCheck = 1

    If $bCheck =1 Then
If Not ProcessExists("randomexecutablehere.exe") And Not ProcessExists("randomexecutable2here.exe") Then
    ShellExecute($code)
        EndIf
    EndIf

It tells me that the Variable $Code is used before declaration, in Addition i want it to be automatic:

First you select the file which shall be executed if both processes don't exist -> First button

Then the file keeps restarting until you end the Autoit Script.

Post your script, or a reproducer script. What you posted isn't enough to see where you made the mistake(s).

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

was2,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :)

Unfortunately you appear to have missed the Forum rules on your way in. Please read them now (there is also a link at bottom right of each page) - particularly the bit about not discussing game launching - and then you will understand why you will get no help and this thread will now be locked. :naughty:

See you soon with a legitimate question I hope. :)
