Edano
yep not very satisfying. from a logical point, if you set a = b, ( a = b ) should be True. so is this a bug ? guinness
from a logical point, if you set a = b, ( a = b ) should be True. Think of arrays as variables within a variable, so no that logic won't work if you think like that for arrays. jchd
The assignment $a = $b with $b an array is [probably] implemented as a copy constructor. There is little ambiguity about what a copy constructor is expected to do, at least from a user point of view. Comparison of variants (e.g. AutoIt variables) is a completely distinct operation. AutoIt developers choose not to implement arrays operators like =, >, >=, <=, <, <>, ==, +, +=, -, -=, and so on. While some of them could be assigned an obvious semantics, others would mean something specific. These choices are design choices. And we are not at this stage discussing AutoIt design. In short, loop thru your arrays and decide which equality test you see fit for your use case. Edano
well, this should work in all (??? => except the "blank" vs "0" problem) cases: . #include <Array.au3> Dim $array1[20] For $i=0 To 19 $array1[$i]=$i Next $array2=$array1 MsgBox(0,UBound($array2),(_ArrayToString($array1)==_ArrayToString($array2))) . but from a performance view, there are most probably better solutions. Danyfirex
that should work. but think if you have a long array and the index 0 boths array are differents array1[0]<>array2[0], you'll continue the convetion to string. you'll spending time. I think the best is while array1[$i]==array1[$i] keep comparing, else are diferents. obvious comparing first array size. Saludos. Edited July 1, 2013 by Danyfirex Danysys.com AutoIt...
