nullschritt
Hello, I have recently started workign on an app that uses tabs, however, I noticed if I add an object after the gui has been created, the object i snot put inside the tab. So my question is how do I get the active tab? I have tried using guictrlsetonevent() with guictrlread() but it doesnt seem to detect any change. BrewManNH
I'm not sure how many times this has to be repeated, but here it goes again. water
Just a shot in the dark. You need to "close" the tab creation. According to the help file: To terminate the tab control just create a last "tabitem" control with a null text "". Moderators Melba23 Posted July 8, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2013 nullschritt,And another point - if you create controls you want placed within tabs after you have closed the tab structure (as water suggests) then use GUISwitch with the tabitemID parameter set. If you do not so this they will not be correctly located within the tab and appear on the main GUI. nullschritt
I solved this by using the following: Case $hWndtab Switch $iCode Case $NM_CLICK $tabindex = GUICtrlRead($tab) switch $tabindex case 0 ;actions for tab 0 $tabindexx=0 case 1 ;actions for tab 1 $tabindexx=1 EndSwitch EndSwitch

M23 Currently I am using a global variable to hide and show content based on the clicked tab, but it would also be nice to have the controls located inside their respective tabs, not just showing/hiding on tab click (as currently I cannot get the controls to display properly without switching tabs, even if the tab I want to display the content on is active, and cannot show the control by default, as it has the possibility of overlapping content in another tab) How exactly would I go about setting the "tabitemID" or rather, where should I get this ID, so that I can use it with guiswitch()? Thanks!
BrewManNH
When you use GUICtrlCreateTabItem, the return from that function is the control ID for the tab item. Moderators Melba23 Posted July 8, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2013 nullschritt,Tabs are 0-indexed in order of creation - so just use the correct integer as the tabitemID parameter. Do not forget to reclose the tab definition again once you have finished - and I recommend resetting the GUI as well with a further GUISwitch call.
