Shutdown Batch File Fails

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I tried this script and modified a little bit to include to run my batch script before logging off or shutting down my win7 pc. However, my batch script didn't run. Any idea? Appreciate your help. Tnx

$WM_QUERYENDSESSION=0x0011

GUICreate"ShutDownNotificationGui"
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_QUERYENDSESSION, "_ShutdownInitiated")
GUISetSTate(@SW_HIDE)

While 1
    Sleep(10)
WEnd

Func _ShutdownInitiated($hWndGUI, $MsgID, $WParam, $LParam)
    If $WParam = 0 Then
        RunWait(@COMSPEC & " /c c:\Mybatch.bat")
        Msgbox(0,"","Shutting down")
    EndIf
    If BitAnd($WParam,0x80000000) = 0x80000000 Then
        RunWait(@COMSPEC & " /c c:\Mybatch.bat")
        Msgbox(0,"","logging off")
        Return True
    EndIf
EndFunc

T420,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :)

Please do not necropost in a 7 year old thread in future - just start a new thread and link to the old one as I have done above. ;)

And when you post code again, please use Code tags - see here how to do it. Then you get a scrolling box and syntax colouring as you can see above now I have added the tags. ;)

T420,

No problem - now you know. :)

But please remember this is not a 24/7 support forum - those who answer are only here because they like helping others and have some time to spare. You just have to wait until someone who knows something about your particular problem, and is willing to help, comes online. Be patient and someone will answer eventually. ;)

Hi, T420, what is your batch file doing exactly? The call to $WM_QUERYENDSESSION is working just fine, and I see the MsgBox pop up, but I get an error calling the batch file (because you're trying to launch a new process while shutting down at the same time). Are you able to perform the actions currently within the batch file from the AutoIt script itself?
