Aktonius
I am trying to remove comma between 2 numbers and return updated string but this code bellow will remove entire string instead, how can i do this that updated string will just remove comma? Here is what i tried StringRegExpReplace("1,2", "\d(.*?)\d", "", 0) and then it returns blank What confuses me is that the code bellow perfectly returns comma as array match StringRegExp"1,2", "\d(.*?)\d", 1) So if the same regex is used as pattern in the StringRegExpReplace why is entire string replaced and not just comma? Cant believe that i am stuck on something stupid as this Edited August 19, 2013 by Aktonius
somdcomputerguy
Use StringReplace, like this: Local $var = StringReplace("1,2", "," ,"") ConsoleWrite($var & @LF) Edited August 19, 2013 by somdcomputerguy - Bruce /*somdcomputerguy */ If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. BrewManNH
Try this.ConsoleWrite(StringRegExpReplace("Now is the time, for all good men, to come to the aid of their country. 3333 333 335,26 6666 6666 6666 66,666", "(\d+),(\d+)", "\1\2") & @CRLF)This will take a string and remove the commas between all sets of numbers that have commas in between them. If there are no commas, it just returns the numbers and/or text. You will also notice that it's not removing the commas in the text portion. Edited August 19, 2013 by BrewManNH If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. jchd
Aktonius, In the replacement pattern, 1 (or $1) stands for the content of the first captured group, 2 (or $2) the second, and so on. You can achieve the same result without capturing and replacing. Using look-behind and look-forward assertions (both are non-capturing) is enough to insure the comma is matched when you want only and replaced by an empty string. ConsoleWrite(StringRegExpReplace("Now is the time, for all good men, to come to the aid of their country. 3333 333 335,26 6666 6666 6666 66,666", "(?<=\d),(?=\d)", "") & @CRLF) Edited August 19, 2013 by jchd This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available).
