Using AutoIt to convert a batch file

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to convert a complex batch file to an AutoIt script?

Is it as simple as copy and paste and does it take command line variables?

Cheers!

Au3Builder,

That's not what I call converting, which is what the OP asks about.

So yes, you can convert a batch file into AutoIt but that doesn't forcibly boils down to map DOS commands to AutoIt counterparts. You need to analyse what the batch actually does and uses to devise an equivalent AutoIt script. Hopefully, AutoIt offers much more power and flexible functions than the DOS shell.

there is new idea , run batch file and  read from streams using  StdoutRead alternatively stringinstr as well

but of course autoit is richer  than cmd  ,there is no doubt and can replace it completely
