How do i go about showing ICON instead of a button ?

Or make an ICON act like a button ?

Not sure which way to go but all i've got is this;

$GUI = GUICreate("ScreenOFF", 128, 128, $MainX ,$MainY , $WS_POPUP, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $HiddenGUI)
Dim $OFF = GUICtrlCreateButton("", 0, 0, 128, 128, $BS_ICON)
GUICtrlSetImage(-1, @TempDir & "\MonOff.ico") ;icon file gets there when i start teh script

What i get using this example is an ICON with the button behind it.

What i need it sho show no GUI at all, but ICON only.

How do i go about doing it ?

Thanks

Just use GUICtrlCreateIcon instead of GUICtrlCreateButton. If you click on the icon it will trigger just like a button would, there's just no visual indication that you've clicked on it like a button would show. If you want just the icon to show, make your GUI to be as big as the icon would be and use the $WS_POPUP style setting for the GUICreate. You can't have a button without a GUI to place it on, but you can simulate it.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

How would you go about doing it with my example shown above ?

I tried

    $GUI = GUICreate("ScreenOFF", 128, 128, $MainX ,$MainY , $WS_POPUP, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $HiddenGUI)
$OFF = GUICtrlCreateIcon (@TempDir & "\MonOff.ico", 0, 0, 128, 128, $SS_NOTIFY) ;returns  $STN_CLICKED if clicked
;GUICtrlSetImage(-1, @TempDir & "\MonOff.ico")

I still see the GUI behind the icon

Perhaps the AlphaBlend example in the GUIAdvanced directory could be tailored for your needs?  I'm not aware of how to have visible controls on a invisible GUI, but someone else prob does.
