NewChild
Okay, since I have a limit of posts I'll try to get everything before it's done What I'm trying to do is run a script in the background with internet explorer, I know you have to have controlmouseclick or controlsend replacing the normal ones. It will be typing every while and then for a random test. I still want internet explorer to show on the task, so I can check up and see if it's doing fine
water
You can't automate IE with control* commands. That's what the IE UDF is for. It doesn't use the GUI but the COM interface. Try some of the examples in the help file and you will understand. water
Taken from the example script number 5 for _IECreate from the help file: #include <IE.au3> ; Create an invisible browser window, navigate to a website, ; retrieve some information and Quit $oIE = _IECreate("http://sourceforge.net", 0, 0) ; Display the innerText on an element on the page with a name of "sfmarquee" Local $oMarquee = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "sfmarquee") MsgBox(0, "SourceForge Information", $oMarquee.innerText) _IEQuit($oIE) My UDFs and Tutorials: Spoiler UDFs:Active Directory (NEW 2022-02-19 - Version 1.6.1.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - WikiExcelChart (2017-07-21 - Version 0.4.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Example ScriptsOutlookEX (2021-11-16 - Version 1.7.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - WikiOutlookEX_GUI (2021-04-13 - Version 1.4.0.0) - DownloadOutlook Tools (2019-07-22 - Version 0.6.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - WikiPowerPoint (2021-08-31 - Version 1.5.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - WikiTask Scheduler (NEW 2022-07-28 - Version 1.6.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki Standard UDFs:Excel - Example Scripts - WikiWord - Wiki Tutorials:ADO - WikiWebDriver - Wiki
corgano
Seriously mate, look at the help file. In SciTE type _IE and a thing pops up with posible functions. look for the one that looks like it does what you want. If you want to know how to use a command, highlight it and hit F1 and the help window pops up. Almost every function in autoit has an example in the help file. Experiment! About running in program, _IECreate() has a parameter for visible. Leave it visible when you're testing and making your program, and then set it to 0 when you are finished and it will be in the background And if you have any questions, search google with 'Site:AutoitScript.com whateveryouwanttosearchhere' and it will search the forum. Good luck Edited September 12, 2013 by corgano 0x616e2069646561206973206c696b652061206d616e20776974686f7574206120626f64792c20746f206669676874206f6e6520697320746f206e657665722077696e2e2e2e2e

I'm just like you 3 years ago, with trial and error, asking a lot of questions in this forum (and get so many helps, thank you so much guys!), trial and error, finally I can create my own small script to make my life easier
water
I couldn't have said it better I started the same way. I had a goal (a problem that needed to be solved) - started to code - the script didn't work - started to search the forum, read the help file, found some tutorials - finally got it working. The next script got better in every respect. So, just start! corgano
@michaelslamet Love your profile picture @OP To do stuff with web pages, you should first make sure you have a good understanding of HTML and how HTML works It would also be a good idea to read up on Com objects and javascript. While most of the time you won't have to deal with these directly, it will help you to know how it works and why one thing is better than another @anyone else lost and looking for help If you post questions, it helps to also post the code you have problems with, what you're trying to do, what is actually happening, and any other information that might be helpful. The better you ask the question, the more helpful responses you will get 0x616e2069646561206973206c696b652061206d616e20776974686f7574206120626f64792c20746f206669676874206f6e6520697320746f206e657665722077696e2e2e2e2e
