How do you expect the second half to run? It appears you've stuck 2 scripts together without knowing what either one is actually doing. Your first "half" is stuck in the While loop, with no exit, so there's no way for the second "half" to be executed.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Because the only way to leave the "While 1" loop is to Exit the script.

People have politely replied showing you where your multiple errors are and instead of saying "Thank you for your help" you complain that you got rude answers?

Reallly? "It appears you've stuck 2 scripts together without knowing what either one is actually doing." Thats not a bash? Sorry if i'm not as savy as you are.

You forgot about:

Your first "half" is stuck in the While loop, with no exit, so there's no way for the second "half" to be executed.

Without this second part of the speech, you lose the context.

BrewManNH, said as was noted by, and in the second sentence, drew your attention to a one of possible solution.

EDIT:

It was very polite and nice

Reallly? "It appears you've stuck 2 scripts together without knowing what either one is actually doing." Thats not a bash? Sorry if i'm not as savy as you are.

While it could have been written in a nicer tone, I still stand by my assertion that you have cobbled together 2 scripts and just expected them to work together, without really understanding the code you were using or how they work in general.

Why do I say this? Mostly because you have a commented out Exit in the first While loop, which looks to me like you copied the basics of the first script and didn't want the script to exit when it previously did. Then found the second script and stuck it onto the end of the first script. How do I know this? Because you have an include statement directly after the Wend statement. This tells me you took an example of how to use the _InetSMTP* functions and added it to the first script.

If you want to learn how to code, that's one thing. But, if you want to just have someone fix your mistakes without taking the time to learn what that mistake is in the first place, then you get what is given to you. Your script was easily fixable if you understood how things work in AutoIt, you've been around long enough to get the basics down.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator

To add to what BrewManNH just said, NO, that's not anything close to bashing, it is a precise description of what you yourself did in an attempt to have someone read your mind and fix it for you without you making the faintest effort to understand how things could work together.

Then -- and after receiving nothing less than two informative answers about what you should do to start making things better, all in less than TWO minutes, plus another precise hint regarding another error in your submission -- you complain than people are unfriendly?!?

When people -- and not only me -- point out that eveyone was helpful and polite with you but you were still whimpering about you having been "bashed", you insist on whinning about the imaginary hard treatment you received. Yet not a single "thank you" to people that were intitially helpful.

Now I'll tell you something, honey: we don't give our time and knowledge away for free 24/7 here just to cocoon you, little babe. It's noone fault if you're lazy as hell, like you've yourself pretty well demonstrated in posting this thread. Your ignorance and lack of good will to make any effort to learn something badly add up to your uncalled for arrogance over helpful people. Nobody here will breast-feed you and change your sleeves when you piss in bed. There is no great big hug for those who refuse to at least honestly try to do their own homework.

You are displaying exactly the type of parasite we do not want on this forum. The question is not "being savvy or not" like you repeadtedly say. The question is that, after your blatant gross errors have been politely pointed out, you didn't even try correcting the situation by yourself but instead started and kept on wailling about yourself.

Your arrogant attitude now deserves bashing. Learn to behave or leave.

jchd,

Fall out of bed on the wrong side this morning?

tedesco,

I was going to post and make, perhaps a little more diplomatically than jchd, the same points. But I think after his post I will just content myself with saying that I agree with all of others - within 5 minutes you got two very good replies explaining why the second half of your script did not run, so why are you complaining?

On the contrary, I was in a perfectly pleasant mood, even after reading all this undue whinning. He wanted bashing, he managed to get it.
