Simple example of output to Scite from tool ?

I would like to convert the >FIGlet tool to a small tool to make function headers.

Basically the idea:

  • Press function key within Scite
  • Input window opens for string, turning it into a FIGlet media
  • on a button press the string is passed to Scite, commented out

 

But since most of this is simple, would it be possible to have a very simple example, maybe something like the below, to insert lines into Scite ?

; in doubt about this one...
_insert_text($s)

I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now.

The best way would be to do something like this.

_SciTE_InsertText($sStringToInsert)

This sends the text to the currently open tab in SciTE.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Hmm I marked this solved, but apparently it only inserts the FIRST line in a multi-line field. I cannot find out why.

Debug window:

@@ Debug(150) : $sString = :0:insert:;~                        
;~    ##     ####   #####  
;~   #  #   #       #    # 
...

It's only the characters in the line after ":insert:" that is inserted into SciTE.

ClipPut($sStringMultiLine) works fine.

I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now.

Yes I shamelessly borrowed that from you from a while back, I always forget who wrote what in my snippets. I need to start commenting them so I know where I got them from. :)

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
