To me it's exactly the type of pseudo-savvy blog text wall I dislike the most, begging for audience but relying on urban legends or even blatant lies.

The pseudo-article pointed to is exactly in the same vein, albeit more pseudo-savvy looking.

The are other aspects of Unicode much more open to strong criticism than whinning about this or that encoding which, it is important to remind, are NOT part of Unicode specification.

AFAIK still many asian application are using multibyte charsets like BIG5 and a large number of derivatives. Also Chinese and other asian governments and administrations use non-Unicode charsets.

Hmm, I see. I'll have to take a look at Big5. I have one (vaguely related) question. Do standard buttons (such as OK and Cancel) on MS message boxes appear in the set regional language? I assume they do, but I'm not brave enough to change my regional settings to test this, in case I can't change them back again. I am refering to the MsgBox function in AutoIt.

I found my answer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3803129/change-language-for-messagebox-buttons-text
