I think when you set a non-Unicode language in the system, all apps including Scite and your complied script will use the system option.

so it must be working perfectly on your PC but your problem is on other people PCs right ?

you want to  force the script to use English on other PCs if it was not English ?

yes, you got that right.

But my last test showed that this solution will cause other problems in other areas in the gui. So I decided to use >this option.

Maybe a little badly described a case of my client.

 

It looked like that all applications that display data changed diacritical marks.

 

In addition, it was necessary to carry out the installation in safe mode with CMD console running as an administrator.

 

Then we had to re-edit the settings that are displayed on the screenshots in the first post of this thread.

 

So I think that the problem is your script may partly lie on the side of misconfigured system.

Wrong in the sense that you have to complete all the steps I mentioned above.

I check the charmap.exe

As you can see charmap.exe can display the character that you have in mind,

but AutoIt this does not display correctly:

As you can see I have the same problem.

 

EDIT:

charmap.exe use "RICHEDIT50W" control not "Edit" control, and because that he display this correctly.
