problem, entering some text

Hello.

Let's say I got this text:

helloworld

Inside of that text, I want to make this: "-", so it would become: hello-world

how would I do that? I though of stringtrimleft, but that removes the leftovers

How do you determine where in the text to insert the "-"? For example if the text read "badgerculling", where would you want the hyphen inserted?

And please do not say "between the words" as computers do not necessarily recognise words.

I can't do it that way, since it's a auto generated number, but always the same lengths

I'd like to insert the "-" after the first 4 characters

If the text is always going to be split after the first 5 characters and the rest of the sentence/word is going to be in the second half after the hyphen, use this.

$string = "HelloWorld"
$Text = StringRegExpReplace($string, "(.{5})(.+)",  "$1-$2")

The SRER splits the base number and inserts the "-".

Or perhaps this instead:

$sNew_1 = StringLeft($sOriginal, 4)
$sNew_2 = StringMid($sOriginal, 5)

$sNew = $sNew_1 & "-" & $sNew_2
