No MessageBox on error?

Recommended Posts

Func ConnectToServer
Local $Users[4]
$oHTTP = ObjCreate("winhttp.winhttprequest.5.1")
$oHTTP.Open("GET", $HOST & "Users.dat" , False)
$oHTTP.send()
$Result = $oHTTP.Responsetext
$oStatusCode = $oHTTP.Status

If ($oStatusCode == 200) and not @error then
MsgBox(64,"Success","Successfully connected")
Else
MsgBox(64,"Failed","Connecting failed")
EndIf
EndFunc
If the internet connection is okay, the if statement gets executed successfully and I get the msgbox Successfully connected.
But if I plug out the internet cable I want to get the Connecting failed msgbox, but nothing happens? Why?

are you repeating the check in a loop? if you only execute it once, you'll get the result only once.

You'll have to post more of your code because what you posted will definitely show one of the 2 message boxes. If you're getting the first one when it's connected and not getting the second one when it's not, then you have something else wrong in your script, or it's hanging.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You script normally will exist if you call this function and your internet connection is off. The object will never send because your internet connection isn't on. Actually it will never open the winhttp object... If you translate the code in autoit then maybe you could use those msgbox's.

If you use WinHttp.au3 UDF from trancexx then you might have chances to display those msgbox's. See here: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>.

MadaraUchiha - you are missing an object error handler function.

This goes at the top of your script somewhere:

Local $oErrorHandler = ObjEvent('AutoIt.Error', 'ObjErrorHandler')

I usually put something like this near the bottom:

Func ObjErrorHandler()
    $oErrorHandler.Clear
    Return SetError(-1)
EndFunc
