Alternative to Koda??

So for some reason in Koda, when i try to run a review of the form, it opens it up in Scite (just pastes the code into scite) which is fine until i try to run the script in scite. it says i already have something run and that thing is Koda. so if i close Koda, i can test out the GUI. However, when i try to open up a koda GUI file, Koda give me and error and closes.

is there a program that can let me run the form to preview it instead of having to open Koda, make changes, generate code, copy and paste over the old GUI info, close koda, run the script, close the script, open koda again, open the form file, then rinse and repeat everytime i want to change something??

Koda is a stand-alone program, you can start it manually without having to go through SciTE to start it. That way, SciTE won't have another program running while you're running Koda.

If you look in the Example Scripts section you'll find a few form builder programs, one called ISN Studios, another called Form Builder.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator

I'll leave that question to someone that uses Koda, I've rarely used it for anything myself.

did not know it was a stand-alone exe. When i preview the Form, it still just puts it in Scite as a test file. is this normal??

That's normall. As Koda is primarily used for creating a GUI once then adding the relevant code, not updating an existing GUI.

That's depending on the settings you chose during AutoIt Setup. I guess you chose "Edit .au3" on double-click?

If you choose "Run .au3" on double-click, Koda will Preview the form instead of opening it in Scite.

You could have a look at ISN in the Example Scripts section of this forum. Seems to be a fully fledged IDE including a GUI designer.
