MustDeclareVars needed?

Probably a beginners question;

But is it really necessary to declare vars? this is a simple qui from koda:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#AutoIt3Wrapper_AU3Check_Parameters= -d -w 2

and the variables aren`t declared too. What is the reason to add simple lines like Local $form1, $button1

I am making also more and more and bigger scripts (thousands of lines) and try to structurize and optimize my scripts and looking for something like scripting standards / structures or variable naming or UML or..... Espacially for large scripts. Is there something for autoitscripts.

No, you don't have to.

But it is good coding practice to declare your variables to ensure they are in the correct scope. It is much better to be explicit in declaring the scope of your variables that to leave it to AutoIt to make automatic decisions - after all it cannot read your mind!

I suggest reading the Variables - using Global, Local, Static and ByRef tutorial in the Wiki if you would like to learn more about scoping variables in AutoIt.

@melba23: I forgot about the scope, but indeed that is a good reason of course.

Till now I tried not to make too many global varables, because I split my script into severall au3 files and included them to schrink the size of the script. And found that I sometimes declared globals multiple times (namegiving of variables)
