Closing a process

I found a snippet in the snippet library for closing a running process, although I figured out a shorter way to do it afterwards.  I wonder why should I take the longer way vs. the way I figured out?

Here is part of the snippet I found, with minor edits to accomidate what I want to do (call this one "A"):

Now, here is what I did that seems to accomplish the very same thing (call this one "B"):

While ProcessExists("iexplore.exe")
   ProcessClose("iexplore.exe")
   Sleep(20)
WEnd

So, why should I do A over B?  BTW, coding is not my fulltime job, so I do a very little bit of it here and there, but not quite enough to know most of the "proper" coding methods, just some basics.

Well the snippet above (I think it's mine) is for those process that ProcessClose() can't close.

Thank you Guinness, I believe you are probably right about it being your code, I saw lots of submissions in there from you (and thank you for sharing!!).

So, being new to this, I'm not familiar with the why's and I hope to not annoy if I continue to ask the same or similar question because it can take repetition to get it through to me sometimes!  That being said...

My goal is to make sure IE is not running prior to the next steps, for the project I'm working on.  Both ways appear to work in ending the IE processes (all of them).  Does taskkill work better than ProcessClose() (maybe because it's 'native' to Windows)?  If that is true, then would it be better for me to swap taskkill for ProcessClose() in B?  Or does that risk causing other issues that the rest of your snippet would resolve?

Well ProcessClose() works 99.9999% of the time, so just use that.

I don't mind doing it the longer way if it's the right way to do it, I wanted to understand the difference.
