Is this strenuous for a PC?

Sleep(1) is a bit short because the number is n/1000 seconds. If you use 500 the script will check 2 times a second for the window. Uses less CPU.

Hmmm, 50 is the most I can use there. The thing is that I check whenever I Num2 is down.

This is my full script if it helps:

#include <Misc.au3>
$hDLL = DllOpen("user32.dll")
$count = 0
$hold_time = 50

While 1
    If WinActive("[CLASS:MediaPlayerClassicW]") Then

        If _IsPressed("62", $hDLL) Then
            Send ("{SPACE}")
            While _IsPressed("62", $hDLL) And $count < $hold_time
                $count = $count + 1
                Sleep (1)
            WEnd
            If $count = $hold_time Then
                While _IsPressed("62", $hDLL)
                    Send ("{SPACE}")
                    Sleep (19)
                WEnd
            EndIf
            $count = 0
        EndIf

        If _IsPressed("65", $hDLL) Then
            Send ("{SPACE}")
            Sleep (20)
            Send ("{SPACE}")
            Sleep (200)
        EndIf

    EndIf
    Sleep(50)
WEnd
DllClose($hDLL)

Num2 shall work as a Pause / Play, and Num5 shall work as a Play some milliseconds then pause again.

I wouldn't use the While loop with the _IsPressed the way you're doing. As long as you have the Numpad2 held down it's sending a space to the active window every 10ms, for 50 repetitions. Hopefully not what you're looking to do.

Also, 10 is the lowest sleep time you can use, anything less than 10 will sleep the script for 10ms regardless of the value in the sleep function.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Actually, if I hold down Num2 it goes like this (I tried it out): At first Space is triggered, then it waits a bit, then a while later Space is triggered repeatedly very fast until I let go of Num2.

This is actually what I want to do with it, so I'm not having any trouble with it. But I'm still wondering about how much load this is for the PC.

While 1
    If WinActive("[CLASS:MediaPlayerClassicW]") Then
    EndIf
    Sleep(50)
WEnd

Open up the task manager and look at the CPU load while doing it.

Although I have to wonder why you need to spam the space bar like that for the "media player".

Kind of hard to explain, but I'm making key commands for syncing subtitle files. The goal is to use Num2 and Num5 to find out exactly when a line is spoken in a film. I'm very picky, so this helps out a lot in that process, to get an accurate time.

But about the CPU - I checked and it says 0%, but almost every process running says 0%, so I guess it's not that much... But it would be interesting to compare with some other program though...
