Remove special character from a file.

I have a script that is using the DOS copy command to combine two files into one file copy a.txt+b.txt c.txt.  When I look at the c.txt at the end of the file appears to be a non-printable character.  From what I can tell it is probably a Decimal 26.  In AutoIt terms $X = Chr(0x1A).  The character does not exist in either the a.txt or the b.txt file.  Is there a quick and easy way to remove the single character from the file without having to read/write the entire contents out or maybe move the eof marker back by one character.

bdg2814,

Please pay attention to where you post - the "Developer Chat" section where you started this thread is not for general support questions. I have moved the thread for you, but would ask you to be more careful in future. ;)
