HTTPS Server in AutoIt?

Hi

Creating a basic HTTP Server in AutoIt is quite easy, and enables you to send commands to your computer, via a mobile phone for example, without installing anything on the mobile phone.

(the mobile phone only needs to have a browser on it)

My question:

Is it also (relatively) simple to write an HTTPS Server in AutoIt?

And if yes, does it require me to buy a Certificate or something? or it can be avoided?

I hope someone has done it and can give some info

Thank you

Zohar

I certainly wouldn't be able to create such a script, but I just wanted to mention; yes a certificate would be required, but it does not need to be purchased by a trusted authority.  It could be a self-signed certificate as long as the client is willing to accept/trust it.

I am guessing you have looked at Manadar's AutoIt Server? Don't forget HTTPS is also encrypted data, so you would have to look into the recommendations. This isn't an easy task as you might have first thought.

Thanks spudw2k.

How do I get such a certificate that is free?

The only "client" is me, from my mobile phone..

So I am willing to accept it :)

This isn't an easy task as you might have first thought.

No-one has created a slim, basic implementation for it?

As a (possibly irrelevant here) sidenote, a web server can use SQLite as the RDBMS engine, and many websites are setup this way.

openssl can be used to generate SSL certificates.

Nice..

If you need something quicker than writing a script or waiting for a one to be written you can always try Apache.

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/ssl/ssl_faq.html#selfcert

What I need from the server is not really to be a web server that serves web pages,

but more like an interface, to turn things on or off..

So for that purpose, a full blown web server would be too much.

:)

It's really nice that AutoIt can even be used DB interfacing.
