Champak
Is there a windows message call back for Internet connection? I read through a bunch of windows messages and none of them clearly indicate if there is, but I figure there has to be. So did I miss it?

Champak
I didn't read it anywhere. I currently have a timer checking for internet connection every 30 seconds and would just prefer not to have that. So if there was some type of windows message happening within the system I would rather have that communicate with my script if it happens. I just thought since there were all types of messages happening in windows like http://wiki.winehq.org/List_Of_Windows_Messages there might be one with internet connection. Im just really learning and getting into the regmessage stuff and its slightly improved performance.
power1power1
Hi Champak, I have the same question ... Did you find the answer? Edited February 2, 2014 by power1power1
Champak
No, I ended up dropping the issue because I had to disable the wifi card itself from searching for internet connection for other reasons. But I'm sure there has to be some type of message that happens when the computer actually makes an internet connection. But from what I saw it's not in the WM_NOTIFY. If you do find it, please post in case I revisit this.
power1power1
OK, sure. Hopefully one of the developers would soon chime in with an answer.
BrewManNH
You could try _WinAPI_IsInternetConnected to see if you're online. guinness
There is no WM_ message. Does that answer your question? power1power1
Alright, thanks for the replies. I guess I will be using "_WinAPI_IsInternetConnected" in a loop, then.
BrewManNH
If you can figure out how to use the NCSI service in Vista and above, you might be able to get the information you are looking for. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee264321(v=vs.85).aspx If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
