level20peon
Hello, DirMove('C:\Dir1\SubDir','C:\Dir2\SubDirRenamed',1) will move the subdir from directory 1 to directory 2 and rename it. But when "C:Dir2SubDirRenamed" already exists it will move "C:Dir1SubDir" to "C:Dir2SubDirRenamedSubDir". Is this due to DirMove() already being a workaround to rename directories or is this actually a bug ?
martin
I think that the function was probably designed to operate the way it does in which case the devs wouldn't see it as a bug. However, I think that what you expected would be more sensible than what actually happens. After all, if you use file explorer to copy a folder then it will overwrite an existing folder with you he same name after prompting, so DirMove should do the same IMO. BrewManNH
That is working as intended. From the help file" If the destination already exists and the overwrite flag is specified then the source directory will be moved inside the destination. AZJIO
The explorer does merge of folders. To make merge it is necessary to check that folders didn't coincide. For each existing folder it is necessary to copy its contents. My other projects or all
