trancexx
I'm changing the look of the help files that I created for some projects and so if you wouldn't mind trying the attached zipped help file (of WinHttp). What I would want is that you try it and report if you get any problems with it, if something wouldn't work as you would expect.CHM_WinHttp.zipDon't forget to extract it from the zip and uncheck "always ask..." when prompted.I have completely removed built-in chm search engine to reduce the size of the help files and wrote my own. If you know some good, or have written, indexing/searching engine written in javascript would you mind sharing it with me?Currently I'm just creating static array with keywords and loop through it trying to match the searched term. It would be nice to be able to dynamically load keywords based on content of chm. Edited December 28, 2013 by trancexx ♡♡♡ . eMyvnE
mLipok
What I would want is that you try it and report if you get any problems with it, if something wouldn't work as you would expect. Given that lack of information sometimes could mean a lack of interest, I would only say: According to me (after 15 minutes checking) works well, and it is a nice alternative. ripdad
All in all, very good! 1) I like the search feature. I tried all kinds of things. It caught every one of them. 2) It's not necessary to prefix "is" in english. It's already assumed with the layout. $array[0] - is scheme name $array[1] - is internet protocol scheme $array[2] - is host name ;------- $array[0] - scheme name $array[1] - internet protocol scheme $array[2] - host name "The mediocre teacher tells. trancexx
Ok, thanks guys. My main concern was uniformed display regardless of user's systems or settings. Normally I have access to various systems but considering the time of year that isn't case now. ♡♡♡ . eMyvnE

Richard Robertson
When it opened, the window was too small and stuffed into the top right corner of the screen. Is this expected behavior? Search works fine. Tried both expected and unexpected search terms just to check the difference between results and no results. I don't like the lack of OS chrome. It's very jarring to open a common format and have it appear 100% different.
trancexx
When it opened, the window was too small and stuffed into the top right corner of the screen. Is this expected behavior? It is. Happens on first run from the same location. I guess compiling flags could be changed to give window exact position and size but I think position cache doesn't work on later runs then. I haven't tried to be honest.Search works fine. Tried both expected and unexpected search terms just to check the difference between results and no results. I don't like the lack of OS chrome. It's very jarring to open a common format and have it appear 100% different. Thanks for the new jarring word I learned today. Do you know for a way to create new style Windows help files or whatever, kind that win 8 uses internally? Has that leaked yet? ♡♡♡ . eMyvnE
James
I don't like the look of it. But the search is good. Blog - Seriously epic web hosting - Twitter - GitHub - Cachet HQ
spudw2k
I don't like the look of it. But the search is good. I'm the opposite, I like the look but don't like the search. It only seems to find text in the Func name or description rather than the content of each page. Just an assumption but I bet it's looking at some simple index or just those "fields" (for lack of a better term). Not a huge deal, just my input.
