[Solved] Can I Define a Fucntion in AutoIt that will have a CallBack Parameter?

Hi

 

I would like to create a Function, that one of its parameters will be a string, which indicates a Name of a Function to be called once something happens.

Is it possible in AutoIt?

Search in the help file for FuncName() as this gives you an idea of structure.

No need to duplicate, because if that function changes so will the example, hence why your post could be outdated in future versions of AutoIt.

Oh, and to link it's easy as an AutoIt code box and the function name.

FuncName()
IsFunc()

Call() is kind of not needed when functions can be treated as first class objects.

UDFs that used to use Call() have been swapped out in favour of the above, so that tells you something at least.

Here's a demonstration of how to pass a function the name of another function in the current release version of AutoIt.

$Function = Function2 ; $Function is now equal to Function2()
Function1(Function2) ; Pass Function1 the function to call directly

... no time was wasted... I found examples in above posts instructive (I have to learn this new functionality) , and  surely also other readers will benefit of those examples

OK. In future just specify which version of AutoIt you're using please, so as people don't waste their time.

No tme was wasted because I will also use the newer solution once i change to the newer version of AutoIt, o the info was not lost in any case.
