Obfuscator cannot determine the function you will be running withint hat Execute function because it is only set at runtime. Hence it has no idea how to set the required function name to match the obfuscated names it will give to the various functions you might be calling and so errors. The fact that this simple thing appears to escape the understanding of most of the user base is why Jos is discontinuing development of Obfuscator - and I cannot say I blame him at all. Why do you need to Obfuscate this particular script? I'm really need to protect my scripts. Not saying my scripts are very worthy, but some of them content credentials for LAN's database, some even content credentials for write access. I know the best is not to put the credentials on the scripts, but I need that to read (and write) the database. If someone copy the exe files out of office and get the source code, then my future in this office is in danger Why is au3stripper different from obfuscator? AU3Stripper will have the Func and Variable stripping of Obfuscator including the support for: The new assigment of a UDF FUNC to a Variable ie: $testvar = _testfunc The old /RM (the old /om) swithc which will rename the Funcs and Variables to a short name to minimise the needed space for the script. A new /PE (PreExpand) switch which implements the idea of guinness to replace the content of Const defined Vars in the actual code. Obfuscator support has stopped and will not be adapted any further to properly support the latest release. Morthawt Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Most of the time I only ever use striponly but there are some circumstances where obfuscation is nice to make it more difficult for someone to try and rip you off. If they decompile the exe they have to take lots of time to de-obfuscate it (which I have tried on my own source and I cannot even make sense of obfuscated code) and then take lots of time to understand it all. Limited usefulness but like any tool, when you need it you want it available. Free and easy Autoit scripting video tutorials (plus more videos always coming!)
