ADO and non-row returning queries

I am having problems checking the return status of an object that I just executed a sql insert/delete statement.  I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have attached two very short snipits of code.

; In the 1st example I am not really sure what to check from the object.  Using the IsObj function always returns true.  
; In the second example I create a record set but because the insert does not return a row the record count is always <blank> or <no value>.  
; If I try to check $rs.eof that also does not work.  I have also tried to check $rs.index which is always zero and $rs.status is always <blank> or <no value>.   In the GUI debugger <blank> and <no value> are hard to tell the difference between.
;  I have also tried the same approach on a DELETE statement with basically the same outcome.

Can you try to insert into a non existing table and then check the value of @error?

Not quite sure how that will help?  The statements above work as is.  I have not found any documentation that indicates that @error is set with the result/status of a non-row returning query/insert.

If you run AutoIt > 3.3.8.1 then @error is set whenever a COM error occurres.

Executing a wrong statement will show if this is true for your environment as well.

The statement works just fine.  As I run the code through the debugger I pause and perform a select from SQL Studio Manager and I can see the new row in the table.  I just need a way to confirm that the row has been inserted successfully from the code side.  I could perform a select and specify the record and check the recordset to validate that the row was returned but that seems like a lot of extract work.  I would think that the com object would have something available for me to check?  I am just not sure where or how to gain access to it using autoit.  

I do have the latest version of AutoIt.  I just updated it a couple of days ago.

Feel free to test @error right after any object operation. Non-zero value normally denotes malfunction.
