water
Maybe the problem is described >here. "After more investigation I'm sure the behaviour we see is described here (Application Shutdown Changes in Outlook 2007 SP2). Outlook shuts itself down if there is no open window (which is always true when started by _OL_Open) and there is no open reference to an Outlook item (mail, appointment ...)." So when your script doesn't reference an item Outlook shuts itself down. Crazy but true. fschreiner
Hi, I'm currently trying a very simple action. A new MailItem should be created within a given folder - unfortunately this doesn't work for whatever reason. Just creating a new MailItem in the default folder (Drafts) works fine: #include <OutlookEX.au3> Global $oOutlook = _OL_Open() $oItem = _OL_ItemCreate($oOutlook, $olMailItem, "", "", "Subject=Test") _OL_Close($oOutlook) .. the application keeps creating the new Item in the Drafts folder even though I define a different folder: $oItem = _OL_ItemCreate($oOutlook, $olMailItem, "*\TestFolder", "", "Subject=Test") I'd assume that I'm facing a pretty basic error at this stage, shouldn't be a big deal but I'm a Newbie ;-) Thanks for your help! AbdulQadir
Hi All, Basically I do browser automation using selenium webdriver. Now I have a use case where i have to send email through outlook. For that I have researched and came to the conclusion that AutoIt is the tool to do that instead of using extensions to webdriver. Correct me if I am wrong. This is the reason that I am here now. Now you all know that I am new to AutoIt. please suggest me how to accomplish the following use case using AutoIt. Use Case: Want to send email from different email id's to different email id's with different email format using outlook. I mean From email, To email and body message can be parametrized. so that i can mention the data in some excel file or some other source and AutoIt script uses that data to drive the script iteratively. Also logs are generated, which I see through putty. It will be great if messages from log can also be verified by the script but it is not necessary. I would highly appreciate your help. Please let me know if something needs clarification. Edit: Also body message is not a plain text but in particular format like table, links included. Format doesn't change for the next email, only some values in table needs to be changed. Thanks, Edited March 26, 2014 by AbdulQadir
water
Welcome to AutoIt and the forum! The Outlook UDF should be able to help you with this task. I would start with function _OL_ItemCreate. Different types of log messages occurs in putty depending on format, email id etc. so is there any way to match particular log message string to provided string in script or external file. and also would it be possible to parametrize the script?
