Drake6 Posted February 14, 2014 Share Posted February 14, 2014 I am trying to apply a version number to an executable. I read that I need to use AutoItWrapper.exe to accomplish this. Fair enough. Steps: 1: open an .au3 file with this executable: SciTE.exe 2: Add directives: #AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion=9.0.0.0 #AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_ProductVersion=9.0.0.0 3: Downloaded SciTE4AutoIt3.zip ("all the files in a zip." that is the fullest download I could find for this. Other one was just the standalond AutoIt3Wrapper.exe) 4: Introduced all these files and folders into the root install folder of the existing AutoIT installation, which is the latest non-beta version on the downloads website. I used Beyond Compare to do this and nothing in the install was overwritten. To make a long story short, no means of calling the compiler or writing directives makes any difference in the resulting executable, which, variously on different machnes, either displays the version number of SciTE.exe or 0.0.0.0 What am I missing? The SciTE4AutoIt3 install replaces the SciTE-Lite files installed with AutoIt. You need to extract the zip contents into the Autoit3SciTE folder, not the root - or use the installer that you can find here.
