david1337
Hi guys In my script I want to activate the conversation Window of Lync. The problem is that the window changes titles according to who is calling. - So I can't identify the window based on the title. - I can't identify the window based on part of the title, as the callers name is the only thing identifying the title. - I can't activate the window according to it's position, as the position of the window changes! - I can't identify the window based on the process name, as the process name of the windows is "lync.exe" just like the main window of Lync So does anyone have any suggestions? - David Edited February 18, 2014 by david1337
Moderators Melba23 Posted February 18, 2014 Moderators Share Posted February 18, 2014 david1337,When you first open this window, does it have a standard title at that point? If so then you can use that title to get the handle - a unique identifier used by Windows (and AutoIt) which can replace the "title" parameter - and use that from then on regardless of the actual title. If not, then you could use WinList before and after the creation of the window and see what handles have been added. One of the new GUIs will be the one you want - WinGetState will be useful to determine those which are visible (there should be only the one new GUI).I hope that helps. david1337
Hi Melba Thank you so much for answering Not sure I can figure out how to use your advice! I don't create or open the window myself. The window pops up, when answering the phone. Se my example below, where David Linder is the caller, and therefore the title of the window. BrewManNH
Use the window's class "LyncConversationWindowClass" to get the information you need. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Solution david1337 Posted February 19, 2014 Author Solution Share Posted February 19, 2014 Ahh I figured it out now by using the Finder tool in Au3Info. And it gave me the class: LyncConversationWindowClass as you said BrewManN. WinActivate("[CLASS:LyncConversationWindowClass]") ...and voila, it works. Thank you guys!
