janijani
When I open .bin file in Hex Workshop, it opens as hex file. That's exactly what I want. When I open hex file, Hex Workshop takes it as ascii and converts to hex. How do I open the hex file as is ?

janijani
It's actually a ascii file. It looks as follows in notepad: 20 0C 00 60 00 80 00 00 < and so on > 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 < and so on > < and so on > When I open it in Hex Workshop, it looks as follows: 32 39 20 30 43 20 30 30 30 30 20 30 30 20 30 30 I want Hex Workshop to open ascii files exactly the way they are opened in notepad. BrewManNH
What is Hex Workshop, and what does it have to do with AutoIt? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. janijani
it is simply an editor that shows you the content of a binary file 'in the raw'. As a bonus, it also attempts to display the contents of the binary file as a string of ASCII characters. It's my first time in this forum. That's why asked in which category should I post this ? Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted February 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2014 I think the confusion lies in the fact that you're asking how to open something in Hex Workshop. What does this have to do with AutoIt? What have you tried in AutoIt thus far? "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind. Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted February 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2014 But this is an AutoIt forum, not a Hex Workshop forum. What are you trying to do in AutoIt specifically? janijani
I'm not doing anything in Autoit. I was just looking for a forum to ask my Hex Workshop question. I think I'll search elsewhere.
