TestingUser
Hi, I am new to AutoIt and I tried to write a script for notepad. My script is - Run("notepad.exe") WinWaitActive("Untitled - Notepad") If WinExists("Untitled - Notepad") Then MsgBox(0, "Window", "Notepad Window Exists!",1) ; Wait for 1_second to close popup EndIf Send("This is some text.") ;click control+s to save file Send("^s") WinWaitActive("Save As") ;enter file name and path Sleep(1000) ; To supply some delay Local $MyDocsFolder = "E:\" $filename = $MyDocsFolder & "outputFile" & Random(1,100) Send($filename) ; Random number between (1-100).<ID> Sleep(1000) ;click the "Save" butto Send("!s") ; To select 'Save' Sleep(1000) Send("!fx") If Not WinExists($filename) Then ConsoleWrite("File is saved at - "& $filename & @LF) It works for the first time but when I try to run the same script mulitple times it hangs. After opening Notepad application it hangs and didn't execute remaining command--Send("This is some text.")......... At console I found a text->"C:Program Files (x86)AutoIt3SciTE..autoit3.exe" /ErrorStdOut "F:OtherStudyMaterialsAutoITScript Filesnpad.au3" After this script didn't work, notepad application remain open. I have to forcibly terminate the script. Please help me regarding this issue and let me know if we missed something. Moderators Melba23 Posted March 9, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 9, 2014 TestingUser,Welcome to the AutoIt forum. Your script works multiple times for me. I did add a WinActivate("Untitled - Notepad") after the MsgBox line to ensure the Send command went to the correct place, but nothing more. And I added tags to the post as water suggested - see here how to do it. Then you get a scrolling box and syntax colouring as you can see above now I have added the tags.
