Bug report for IE.au3

Recommended Posts

Synix

Hey guys, hopefully I post this in the correct forum section:

I found some bug inside <IE.au3> because I had some weird behavior in a script. For some reason hitting the windows key after starting my script didn't open the start menu.

So I searched where it came from, and found the problem lies inside _IECreate().

You can reproduce my error with this simple script:

Run this script and try pressing the windows key while the GUI is initially active.

#include <IE.au3>

GUICreate("Try to hit the windows key.")
$oIE = _IECreate("", 0, 0)
_IEQuit($oIE)
GUISetState()
Do
Sleep(10)
Until GUIGetMsg() == -3

Explanation and Solution:

When creating a hidden IE object, __IELockSetForegroundWindow($LSFW_LOCK) is called, but later __IELockSetForegroundWindow($LSFW_UNLOCK) doesn't get called.

This is because of a simple error inside __IELockSetForegroundWindow():

Func __IELockSetForegroundWindow($nLockCode)
    Local $aRet = DllCall("user32.dll", "bool", "LockSetForegroundWindow", "uint", $nLockCode)
    If @error Or $aRet[0] Then Return SetError(1, _WinAPI_GetLastError(), 0)
    Return $aRet[0]
EndFunc   ;==>__IELockSetForegroundWindow
If the LockSetForegroundWindow DllCall succeeds ($aRet[0] == 1), it gets treated and returned as an error.

So this line:

    If @error Or $aRet[0] Then Return SetError(1, _WinAPI_GetLastError(), 0)
must be:

    If @error Or Not $aRet[0] Then Return SetError(1, _WinAPI_GetLastError(), 0)

Oh I'm sorry, I searched for an official bugtracker through google, but I couldn't find it.

Searching for "trac" instead does the trick :) I will keep that in mind.

There's a link at the top of every page to the BugTracker.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
