KaFu Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I think what you should be looking at are the HTTP response status codes, those should be "easily" accessible with trancexx excellent >WinHTTP functions UDF. A different approach would be to look for unique keywords (e.g. in the HTML Header) in the response to check for validity. guinness Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) What is the point of checking if an URL is valid if it doesn't point to anything?If you have to request a user to enter a URL then surely it's beneficial to check the URL is a valid format before checking it exists. I mean having a global "it doesn't work" error message isn't very useful for the user or you is it now. I am surprised you can't see the benefit if you're a developer.
