leuce Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Hello everyoneMy headphones comes with a button on the wire that it claims will answer a call if I get phoned while wearing the headphones, but I would like to use that button for something else (e.g. turn it into a mute button or into a button that will let me change the speaker volume). I suspect that when I press that button, some kind of signal is sent to the computer (a mystery keypress, perhaps).If I understand correctly, if I know what "key" that button is, then I can use IsPressed to sense it and modify its function. So, do any of you have any idea what that key might be, or how I can figure out what that key is? Typical PC sound socket are stereo only and don't have provision for a 4th connection. AFAIK in the traditional PC architecture only signals send to the former 8051 chip (now buried in the chipset) can identify keystrokes. If I'm right that usual inputs have 1 less "circle" than your headphone. That one circle which ur computer won't detect handles the signal to that answer button. Typical PC sound socket are stereo only and don't have provision for a 4th connection.Hmm, thanks.So essentially I can't use this button on my PC at all. I plugged it into my smart phone and pressing the button in various ways does ilicit various responses from the phone.
