Reset variable

Is there an other way to reset the variable to it's started value other than this in the example below?

Global $a_range = IniRead("file.ini", "test", "Perso", 0) ; returns a number
_ChangeValue()
ConsoleWrite("Value after my function = " & $a_range & @CRLF)
Func _ChangeValue()
    ConsoleWrite("Value before = " & $a_range & @CRLF)
 $a_range = 456

Then please show me an other one because this way I know and I can't use it in my situation.

I can not add the var in the functions params because it want always be called and not only 1 var is called.

While I would find it to be a ridiculous way to change the value of a variable, you could just change your original example to something like this.

Global $a_range = IniRead("file.ini", "test", "Perso", 0) ; returns a number
$a_range = _ChangeValue()
ConsoleWrite("Value after my function = " & $a_range & @CRLF)
Func _ChangeValue()
    Return 456
EndFunc

Of course I find the whole idea rather ridiculous because if you want to change the value of a variable, just reassign it, no need for a function at all. 

Global $a_range = IniRead("file.ini", "test", "Perso", 0) ; returns a number
$a_range = 456

I find the first way the same as you.

Reassigning it is what i am doing but reassign in my position is to read the ini again. That is why i am asking for an other solution.

Go on because i want to avoid reassigning it again by using ini read at the end of each call of the function that changes its value.

Weird because you said dozens of ways and besides that they are not correct, the correct one is the same as mine so in fact you didn't guessed not even one.

 

If someone feels that there is a solution on this please feel free to post.

hmmm. There is something wrong in this thread. As i checked the 1st post i understood that it is me doing something wrong here.

What i am trying to do it to reset the value of the variable within a function and then reset it to it's started value which comes from an iniread.

One way is to read the ini again at the end of the function(#post 1). So i am looking for another way.

Edit: another way is in #post 2 but i cant use it. I cant add the var in the parameters of the function + i have more than 1 var.

Whoops I missed JohnOne's post. IniRead() returns a string by the way, so if you're storing a number then you should parse using Int() or Number(). As to your "issue" I don't know what the problem is.
