JohnOne
Why would it click on file menu? File menu is not part of the edit control. BrewManNH
Edit1 is not the file menu, it's the edit box of Notepad If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Demete
tried this way: WinActivate("Untitled - Notepad") $handle = WinGetHandle("Untitled - Notepad", "") ControlClick($handle,"","","",1,23,40) not working neither:/

JohnOne
I'd try specifying a button parameter. AutoIt Absolute Beginners Require a serial Pause Script Video Tutorials by Morthawt ipify Monkey's are, like, natures humans.
Blue_Drache
I'd try specifying a button parameter. Button, if no parameter is given, defaults to the left mouse button. Which is *usually* the primary one. Personally, I use the primary and secondary keywords to avoid having to check if the buttons have been swapped tried this way: WinActivate("Untitled - Notepad") $handle = WinGetHandle("Untitled - Notepad", "") ControlClick($handle,"","","",1,23,40) not working neither:/ Double negative ... grammar mistakes aside, your X/Y coordinates are for the control ... that you didn't specify ... so no wonder it's not working. Even if you did specify "Edit1" as the control, your coordinates are for the entire window ... so once again, the mouse would click in the text entry area, and not on the menu like you wanted. Why not ControlSend() and Alt+F to the Edit1? Moderators Melba23 Posted April 18, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 18, 2014 Demete, actually I want to do this ControlClick method with a program called PokerCoach, to fasten up a few things like a hotkey for new gameYou might well missed the Forum rules on your way in. Please read them now (there is also a link at bottom right of each page) - particularly the bit about not discussing game automation. So although we will be happy to help you automate Notepad, please do not start asking specifically about games. In fact I would strongly advise not even mentioning the G-word again - all it does it get you on my radar, which is not something you really want. jdelaney
Play around with it. Include control "". Do a mousemove before hand, with a slow movement option, so you can see what you are doing wrong. Else, change the mouseclick autoitsetoption to be absolute, and add in the window position.
